Communication between people feels more shallow than ever. “Friendships” are built around “optimized” posts; flittering moments of a life extracted from the whole.

But can we build a deeper connection using new media?

That is the basic question that inspired I will draw your face.

The project is a collection of portraits of people that follow the page on Instagram. After the portrait is completed I reach out to the subject to share it with them and attempt to build a meaningful connection.

The project will culminate in 100s of these portraits assembled into an interactive installation that asks and, hopefully, answers the basic question.
